1st prize at creatives 2020
The coronavirus pandemic has paralysed global tourism making this sector one of the most affected by this crisis. Thus, from the first few months of 2020, the Vanilla Islands, faced with the need to support tourism’s key players, given the millions of jobs threatened, have responded with responsiveness and creativity.
In fact, in the face of this critical situation, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) came up with a communication campaign to support the sector. The Vanilla Islands therefore decided to join the #voyagezdemain movement by adapting it to the Indian Ocean.
From April onwards and in collaboration with our communications agency, Court-circuit, the association wanted to showcase the best tourist attractions around the Indian Ocean islands through fun and value-adding content. This involved providing items for home entertainment during the first lockdown with the Indian Ocean in mind.
A digital toolbox was thus created and offered to tourism professionals and the general public with:
– Instagram games
– Colouring pages
– 4 videos (in French and in English)
– Etc.

Bolstered by this mobilisation and the digital marketing strategy that was implemented, this approach was welcomed by Reunion Island. Each year, this creative competition rewards the best advertising campaigns by Reunion Island communication agencies. The creatives 2020 edition awarded 1st prize in the “Social Networks” category to the campaign that was orchestrated by Court-Circuit.
For Pascal Viroleau, “the Vanilla Islands team did a remarkable job. With the contribution of Court-Circuit and the support of the World Tourism Organisation, we have been able to offer varied, creative content and forge on successfully with our projects”.
